So I got StarsBox30 and installed it, and it worked fine. Much thanks to
whoever did that. I've missed it.

But now it asks for ser # everytime I open it up, plus it doesn't save
default planet queue like it used to.

How do you get it to save the ser #, and the other stuff you took for
granted it saved?

I haven't had that problem - it may be due to not properly closing the Windows 3.1 system down, or that it is being run from a read-only filesystem (which can happen if you run it directly from the .zip file instead of extracting it first).

You may want to try StarsWine instead of StarsBox as it seems to integrate with Windows 10 quite well:
