Its still on my machine. Its been faithfully loaded to a couple dozen
computers each and every time I upgrade. One of the "ever living" games
along with
Master of Magic
King of Dragons Pass
Space Empires IV
and Dominions 3

But Im not much into multiplayer Im afraid if thats what you are looking
for.

But since the life of this game has come up, if anyone knows of a really
good stars site which has disappeared or might disappear please let me
know. I have my own internet servers and would gladly necromance any such
site

Haven't played myself for some time, but it looks like

http://starsautohost.org/stars.htm

is still active. Last game was annouced 2nd April 2010.

Try asking in the Forum if someone is willing to host a beginner's
game. Unless you want to gain some experience playing against the AI
first, that is :-)

I still play it - but not online. Its a real timekiller, and fits
nicely on a USB stick..
Just hope one of that ever again announced new 'versions' makes it.
